If you fancy a quiet moment amid all the jubilance this weekend, you could sit down with the July issue of Ideal Home magazine, where my house is featured on pages 44 to 49.
Oh your house looks amazing!!-it certainly does look 'ideal' My house was featured in Prudence last year and I was so exhausted by making my house magazine pretty, it was more pressure than Nationwide as I lived in a small flat then and there was no hope of making it look nice, I just tried to make it super clean. On both occasions my media beautiful house went back to normal within about 4 days!
Congratulations Mise, what fun that must have been! I'll be in the UK next week so I'll be sure to grab a copy or two, and as I pay the lady at the till, I shall certainly mention - casually, in passing, - that the star of the magazine is a close buddy! have a lovely weekend Sharon
Thank you, Sharon. I'm watching your blog closely for how best to arrange my books - so important for me to be current with the whole book display area now that I am impossibly famous.
How exciting and fun is this???? I LOVED reading the back story about your 'shoot'. and, as I've only been following for a mere few months - I've hardly seen much of your adorable and beautiful home and didn't realize.... although, I'm thinking that the peek into your yummy linen closet should have been what tipped the hand and given me a clue. Oh, and I hope that you recover, someday, from walking into the door - always so traumatic - I remember the last time I did.... I'd just given birth and didn't know which way was up....
Congratulations and from what I can see on the pages, very well deserved. I will head over to see if I can find a copy at my local book store. Does this mean you now have to sign autographs and wear sunglasses at all times when in public? xx
Although you are a modest sort, would you please indulge those of us without access to the magazine, and share pictures of all the pages that feature your house? Perhaps you will accept a bribe?
As we say in the USA, "ahhhhhhsome!" Congrats on the print and I'll be scrambling around the newsstand, looking to see if that mag is there! Delighted for you :)
Wow. it looks fab, well done, I can remember you saying about the photoshoot, that was a long time ago! Hope you didn't have a black eye after that door :)
Must get a copy so I can see it in the 'flesh'. Well done x
Congrats! What fun that your gorgeous home is featured in a magazine. I'll have to zip down to my international newsstand to see if they carry Ideal Home. Wow!
wOHOOO!!!!! Congrats Lady of Style!!! Looks fabulous already- off to get a copy!!! It's nice to see these magazines catching up with the fresh&modern look and homes with a real personality! I'm a bit of a home&interior mag junkie...do you know VT WONEN - a Dutch magazine swoooon! Have piles and piles...:)! Shame Scottish Husband didn't make it though :(!
Congratulations Mise. How exciting! Yes, I'm with Jen. Perhaps some small inducement in return for showing those of us unable to get our wee hands on the magazine all the photos. Please. P.S Scottish husband's name is Steve? That's so not what I was imagining!
You are such a delightful young lady. Sincerely. I don't suppose you were serious about the cucumber sandwiches-too many followers to accommodate-but I will make a plate of my own crustless nibbles and raise a glass to your achievement.
What fun any forthcoming gathering of friends will be as I name drop my way through Ideal Home (you) and Country Living (Emma @ Silver Pebble). My only previous claim to fame was a great great grandfather who drove Queen Victoria's train, an honour which demanded the wearing of an exclusive Royal Train drivers very tall top hat (him not me!). Does magazine fame require the donning of any kind of head gear I wonder?
OH MIse! That looks amazing and my warmest congratulations! Now I really want to get my hands on that magazine but is it only in Ireland? I want to see all of your beautiful cozy house...very unique style you have too! Big hug Z
Where did my comment go? Take 2. Basically said that walking into door and possibly resembling a panda was worth it for lovely photos. Your house is beautiful.
Hello Mise: How absolutely thrilling. We shall be telephoning friends in England at once to ensure that we have a copy. In the meantime, we intend to scour booksellers and newsagents here as from tomorrow morning. So exciting!
I went to two shops without success, but now I have it in my hands and have carefully placed it (opened at the correct page) next to the issue of Oh Comely with Alice in it. I only keep the best and most tasteful company.
Finally! So thrilled for you Mise, the little peak looks fantastic, it's the best reason for waking into a door that there ever was...your girls must be besides themselves!! I believe it won't just be your 'famous pillow' that will need constant monitoring now...sunglasses for all!! xo J~
What rock have I been hiding under!? I have seen you in print before mind you - oh famous Irish blogger. Looking forward to seeing your gaff again! Sinead
Just got my copy of Ideal Home and spotted you in it, as I read through it and was loving all the country charm, I noticed your home and thought that looks very familiar and then it clicked with me. Congrats on getting your home featured, it is a beautiful home, full of charm and so homely. I will be taking inspiration...

DeleteWow! Your home is beautiful. It's my long-forgotten dream to have my home featured in a magazine ... preferably not "Pet's Weekly".
ReplyDeleteHow thrilling. I am adding a copy to my Ocado order right away.
ReplyDeleteIdeal Home is not the sort of mag that I would normally look at, never mind buy, but I'm rushing out for a copy now.
ReplyDeleteHad I known you'd be reading it, Tom, I'd have given my collection of seventeenth century ships' candlesticks greater prominence.
Delete17th century ship's cushion covers instead?
DeletePerhaps a giveaway is in order for your injured comrades aka the Americans who haven't a hope of getting a copy.
ReplyDeleteOr you could just send one directly onto me?
Your very best friend, Jane
If I weren't in it, my very best friend Jane, I'd send you one straight away, but as it is it would be just too self-regarding of me.

ReplyDeleteYou mustn't suffer like that, Susan; couldn't you just add another copy of the magazine to Sue's Ocado order?
DeleteYou and house look great from what I can see! But I can't get my hands on the mag in Paree!
ReplyDeleteWow. it looks fab, well done, I can remember you saying about the photoshoot, that was a long time ago! Hope you didn't have a black eye after that door :)
